What we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. Written to be read, not to be skimmed past. The short version: the only information we ask for is what we need to review your application for fit, and we do not sell it.
IAN Group is operated by DCRBN LLC, referred to here as IAN Group, we, or us. We are the scale operating system for founders with traction. We work with a small number of companies through fractional expertise, growth and distribution, capital support, and our venture studio.
This policy explains what information we collect through iangroup.ai, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It applies to this website, the Scale Diagnostic application, and the chat widget on our home page. It does not cover the separate agreements that govern a client engagement, which set their own confidentiality terms.
Information you give us. There are two places on this site where you can give us information about yourself. The main one is the Scale Diagnostic application, where we collect:
The second is the chat widget on our home page. Anything you type into it is transmitted to us, along with the contact details you choose to give, and is stored alongside any other record we hold for you.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our hosting and content delivery providers receive standard technical information including your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and the pages you view. This is ordinary server and network activity and we use it to keep the site working and secure.
Information from other sources. If you tell us your company name or website, we may look at publicly available information about your company as part of reviewing your application for fit. We do not buy personal information from data brokers.
We use the information you submit to:
Applications are scored automatically to decide reading order. That score never decides an outcome on its own. Every application is read by a person.
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.
When you submit an application, we send a confirmation and, where relevant, follow up about fit and next steps. If you give us your phone number and consent to text messages, we may send a short confirmation or scheduling message by SMS. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, and reply HELP for help.
Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop messages that relate directly to an application you submitted or an engagement you are part of.
This site uses cookies and similar browser storage that are necessary for it to work. Our host and content delivery network set cookies to serve pages and protect against abuse, and the chat widget on our home page sets its own storage so that a conversation persists if you navigate or return.
We do not currently run advertising cookies or third party analytics on this site. If that changes, we will update this section before turning anything on.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the site, including the chat widget and the application form, from working as intended.
We share information with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, and only for the purposes described in this policy:
We may also share information with professional advisors such as lawyers and accountants, with authorities where the law requires it or to protect our rights, and with a successor entity if our business is reorganized, merged, or acquired. In that last case we will require the successor to honor this policy or give you notice of a change.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising.
We keep application information for as long as we are considering a fit and for a reasonable period afterward, so that we can pick up a conversation if your stage or timing changes. If you ask us to delete it, we delete it except where we are required to keep a record.
Information tied to a client engagement is kept for the period set in that engagement agreement and in line with our tax and legal obligations. Chat transcripts and technical logs are kept for a shorter period.
We use access controls, a password manager for credentials, encrypted connections, and reputable providers who maintain their own security programs. We limit access to application information to the people who need it to review fit.
No system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed without authorization, and you send information to us at your own risk. If a breach affects your information and the law requires notice, we will notify you.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
To make a request, email privacy@iangroup.ai or write to us at the address in section 16. We will verify that the request comes from you or an authorized agent, and we will respond within the time the law allows.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended gives you the rights listed above. The categories of personal information we collect are identifiers, commercial information, internet activity, and professional or employment related information, as described in section 02. We collect it for the business purposes in section 03, from the sources in section 02, and we disclose it to the service providers in section 06.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising, including for anyone under 16. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. Our contact details are in section 16.
If you are in the UK or EEA, we process your information on these legal bases: your consent, where you gave it; our legitimate interest in reviewing applications and running our business, balanced against your rights; performance of a contract, where one exists; and compliance with legal obligations.
You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.
We are based in the United States and our service providers are primarily based there. If you submit information from outside the United States, it will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses.
This site and our services are for business use by adults. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Our site links to other places, and both our application form and our chat widget are hosted by a third party platform. Those services have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their practices. Read their terms before sharing information with them.
We may update this policy as our practices, providers, or legal obligations change. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to tell you. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
